Four decades of building across West Sussex
LRC Builders is a family-run building and construction firm working across Lancing, Worthing and Shoreham-by-Sea. Over more than 40 years we have built, extended and renovated homes throughout the area, and a good deal of our work still comes from people who have seen a job we did for a neighbour.
We have deliberately stayed small. A large firm sends a salesman to quote and a subcontractor to build. Here, the person who comes out to look at your job is the person who will be on site doing it. That makes us accountable, and it is the main reason our standard has held up over four decades.
Leigh, who runs the firm, completed his City & Guilds bricklaying qualification in the early 1980s and has been on the tools ever since. Alongside the garden walls, porches, extensions and full house builds, he has spent time testing new building materials and products for the Building Research Establishment, and rebuilding chimneys on listed buildings in Windsor. That range means very little on a domestic job is unfamiliar territory.
Most of our customers are homeowners, and we also work alongside architects on drawn-up schemes, building from their plans and liaising with building control as the job requires.
